Heather Jacobson (she/her)
Heather was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She moved to Colorado in 2023 to begin a life in the mountains and cooler weather with her rescue dog, Larry.
Upon moving to Colorado, she completed her degree at Texas State University with a bachelor’s in applied Sociology and Social Work in May 2023. She has had a passion for community-based social services since beginning a career working with different socioeconomic communities. While completing her degree she conducted a research study on the importance of how the history of sociological theory has impacted today’s impact on societal change. In Texas, Heather volunteered within Housing Authorities, Food Banks, and various social communities. She finished her degree with a 6-month internship with a CASA organization for neglected and abused children in foster care in Houston. Heather’s education and experiences have strengthened her understanding and motivation towards the importance of community-based social services.
Heather began her career with neurodivergent individuals in 2023. She became extremely passionate about the importance of creating an inclusive environment for neurodiverse people to feel supported, empowered, and accepted within. She hopes to grow within Inclusion on Purpose and be able to offer the community a variety of self-growth opportunities.
Heather enjoys learning new refurbished DIY projects, and arts and crafts in her spare time. During the summer, she enjoys going paddle boarding and hiking with her rescue chiweenie, Larry.
